Half Moons Chasing Orion/Trey

It’s taken eleven years but we now have our Third generation, 50/50 Morab . His name is Half Moons Chasing Orion / Trey. We call him Trey. As far as we know Trey is the first 50/50 third generation in the United States and Canada.
We started looking for a 2nd generation stallion quite sometime ago. Finally we found Night Chase On Broadway, owned by John and Carroll Norris. They live in Floradale, Ontario. So, on November 1st, 2009 Jim and I set out for Floradale with our mare, LM Red Flare. She took the LONG ride very well. Even during the huge wind and rain storm that we found ourselves in as we very slowly moved along in the traffic going around Toronto. Turned out that storm was a tornado! That was something we had never seen before.
We did however arrive safely at John and Carroll’s barn. Flare was absolutely fine. We got her settled in and met Chase. Then we all went back to the Norris’ for a wonderful supper and wonderful company. They were kind enough to let us stay the night at their house. The next morning we all got up early had breakfast and we were off to the barn again to check on Flare. She was perfectly content . Flare spent the winter months in Canada enjoying the company of the horses there. The people who John and Carroll had helping them at the barn fell in love with Flare also, and got some riding time on her as well as spoiling her.
We went back to get her the end of April.
This was Flare’s first foal. The pregnancy went perfectly. On March 7th, 2010 about 12:30 am Half Moons Chasing Orion/Trey was born. Everything went extremely well. After Flare figured out what she was supposed to do with this little one the whole thing has progressed very nicely.
Trey , at 4 months old now, is growing into a gorgeous boy. As you can see.
He and Jim are very good buddies.
